POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Professional Dog Mom provides professional dog nanny services in a reliable, trustworthy, and caring manner, ensuring Peace-of-Mind for Pets and Parents.


What to expect when booking overnight sits:

  • A confirmation of booking provided via the same communication method as booking requested
  • A Professional Nanny who will provide the highest level of care for your dog(s)
  • A Professional Nanny who will treat your home and personal belongings with the utmost respect
  • Daily updates via text/email (client preference)
  • Questions posed by text/email unless urgent
  • ​Nanny to arrive approximately 30 minutes PRIOR to client departing for initial sits with nanny and clients. This is to go over any last minute details as well as provide a smooth transition for the dogs. It is NEVER a good idea for an unfamiliar nanny to arrive in the home after the human clients have departed. 
  • Arrive home to a house as clean or cleaner then when you left it including: sheets and dishes washed, carpet vacuumed, floors swept and most importantly HAPPY and HEALTHY DOG(S)!

What to expect when booking walks, drop-in visits, or day care:

  • A confirmation of booking provided via the same communication method as booking requested
  • A Professional Nanny to arrive at agreed beginning time of service (+/- 15 minutes)
  • A Professional Nanny who will provide the highest level of care for your dog(s)
  • A Professional Nanny who will treat your home and personal belongings with the utmost respect
  • An update via text/email (client preference) with details about the walk, drop-in visit, or day care
  • Arrive home to a house that is locked and secured and most importantly HAPPY and HEALTHY DOG(S)!

Qualifications:

Timing – All bookings are scheduled in our calendars to begin and end at specific times, although we always ask for a flexible time window whenever possible when confirming with the client. This allows for any unexpected events, traffic, etc and still allows us to delivery services in a timely manner. We will do our best to adhere to specific times when requested.

Privacy Policy – All client information will be kept private and confidential. Keys will be coded and never identified by address. No identifying landmarks or information will be shown or provided in any photos posted on social media.

Scheduling – Professional Dog Mom confirms reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis. All reservations are confirmed by Professional Dog Mom via the same method as customer booked. Reservations, also referred to as “Bookings' are accepted verbally, in writing (i.e. email, text, etc.) All confirmations are provided in writing (i.e. email, text, etc.) Booking confirmations are not valid if provided only verbally.

Holidays – Professional Dog Mom accepts reservations 365 days a year, although there are holiday rates for specific holidays.

Pricing – All clients are provided a standing or unique (per sit) quote based on dogs individual requirements, after an initial Meet-n-Greet is completed.

Cancellation fees - Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hour cancellation notice for walks and drop in visits and a minimum of 72 hour cancellation notice for all other services.

  • For walks and drop in visits: $10 fee
  • For all other services: $50 or 10% of the quoted value of the service booked, whichever is greatest

Invoicing and Payment for Sits - Payment is due AFTER services have been provided. After client has confirmed services are complete, an invoice will be created and provided via email. Payment types accepted are; Credit Card, ACH, Paypal, Check, or cash. There is a $30 return check fee. 
-Record agreed alternative arrangements on the Service Agreement.

Client Registration:

  • An initial Meet-n-Greet is scheduled prior to any bookings to introduce pets and Professional Dog Mom. This is to assess fit for both parties.
  • All customers must complete a Veterinary Release Authorization Form and provide to their designated Veterinarian as part of Emergency Preparedness.
  • All customers must complete; an Urgent Veterinary Treatment Authorization, a Service Agreement, and a Client and Pet Profile for record-keeping
  • All animals must be up to date on vaccinations required by the State of Nevada, the City in which the pet(s) resides and/or the County of Washoe. This includes all Client pets residing in the same property regardless of service.

Standard Procedures:

  • No persons are allowed in the clients home during a booking besides Professional Dog Mom. Exceptions are listed in the Client and Pet Profile and First Responders.
  • Professional Dog Mom will imitate to the best of their ability the care provided by the client; feeding, medication administration, walks, exercise and sleeping routine, etc. based on Client and Pet Profile and discussions with client.
  • Professional Dog Mom cannot be held responsible for any damage to the home that is beyond the control of the care given. This includes electrical, water leaks and acts of nature.
  • Professional Dog Mom agrees to maintain a secure home at all times beginning from the first arrival at the property and ending at last visit departure of the property, for each booking.
  • Professional Dog Mom will have access to kitchen, bath, Thermostat, and WiFi of the home during bookings.
  • Professional Dog Mom will utilize existing pets collars, leashes, harnesses, etc. and not use their own unless prior consent is provided by client.
  • Professional Dog Mom is responsible for pet proofing the house, property, and yard and for the security of fences/gates/latches, unless otherwise noted in Client and Pet Profile. Professional Dog Mom will not be responsible for the safety of pets with unsupervised access to the outdoors and will not be liable for the death, injury, disappearance or legal consequences of such pets.
  • Professional Dog Mom is not responsible for any injury to pet caused by or is a result of interaction with another client pet.
  • Professional Dog Mom will treat all client property with utmost respect, at all times without exception, including cleaning, and ensuring the property condition is as close to exactly as it was at the beginning of the booking.
  • Professional Dog Mom will communicate any deviation due from this agreement immediately to client.
  • Professional Dog Mom carries liability insurance which covers the pet sitter. The client agrees to be responsible for any expense or cost that is above and beyond that which is provided by Professional Dog Mom's liability policy.
  • Professional Dog Mom may deem it necessary to utilize a lock box at your property. Professional Dog Mom will always communicate prior to temporarily installing.

Disaster/Emergency Plan:

Inclement Weather:
  • For Drop-In's and Walks, every effort will be made to safely drive to clients home
  • All services scheduled may need to be altered or interrupted
  • If conditions make it impossible to drive safely to clients home, Professional Dog Mom will first contact client directly, then contact the Emergency contacts provided in the Client and Pet Profile
  • Professional Dog Mom will communicate when Emergency contacts have been reached

Tornadoes, Chemical Spills, Explosions, Fires, and all other disasters:
  • Professional Dog Mom will notify client as soon as possible after a disaster has occurred
  • For Drop-In's and Walks, the clients home and pets will be checked as soon as it is safe to do so
  • All pets in danger will be taken to a safe location, to be determined by Professional Nanny
  • If travel conditions are dangerous, client will be contacted, then if necessary the emergency contacts will be notified to take care of pets
  • All services scheduled may need to be altered or interrupted
  • Professional Dog Mom may request that you return home as soon as possible to resume care of home and pets.

In preparation for any disaster or emergency situation:
  • Keep on hand one carrier for each pet in the household along with a pad, towel or blanket
  • Keep on hand in a convenient location an emergency stash of pets food and any medications
  • Keep a Professional Dog Mom business card with you while traveling
